Michael Biggs (1928-1993), whose wood-cuts are featured, was a sculptor with a special interest in lettering. His work can be seen in very many churches - including Holy Cross Dominican Church, Sligo (foundation stone), St Michael's, Dun Laoghaire, St Patrick's College of Education,
Dublin, Holy Cross Abbey, Co. Tipperary, and, pre-eminently, St Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan.
