Eileen Drilling and Judy Rothfork have put together an exciting approach to classroom and family faith-sharing. Children will enjoy talking about God with an adult and parents and teachers will be inspired by the child’s growth in faith. This series provides an easy way to support children in their relationship with God, to give adults and children a way of expressing verbally and ritually their experience of God, to internalize the scriptures, and to strengthen faith life by sharing experiences, prayers and blessings. Each component of Listening to God’s Word is lectionary-based and available for Year A, Year B and Year C.

Children will need more than a pencil for this journal—crayons or markers will help draw out a response to God’s word. Designed for 8- to 12-year-olds. The journaling exercises that correspond to the activities and stories book are a great way to further a personal ownership of faith and to mark spiritual growth.
