In the latest volume, in the Breaking Open the Gospels series, the authors concentrate on the attitudes of Jesus. These attitudes bring hope, peace and joy to life and lead to everlasting life—all of which identify the Christian. These attitudes are summarized in the Sermon on the Mount and are especially clear in the Eight Beatitudes (5:3-12) and in the Lord's Prayer (6:9-13).
