Between The Microwave and the Mall: Finding God In Unexpected Places
Merilyn Pracker grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, and lives there with her husband Allan and their four teenage children. She graduated from Adelaide and Flinders universities and then worked as clinical psychologists before travelling overseas and living in the UK for two years. More recently the family lived in northern California for several years. Her interests and activities currently centre on home and family. She is actively involved in church life and is regularly invited to speak at women’s functions throughout Australia.
The pieces in this book originally appeared as part of a regular column in the magazine Australian Christian Women. In these pieces the author uses her training as a clinical psychologist and her life experiences as a Christian woman, wife and mother to reflect in a practical, down-to-earth way about a wide range of everyday issues that women face: stress, relationships, feelings, parenting, sex and intimacy in marriage, and intimacy with God. Writing with warmth, humanity and humour she shows how God is there for us in the everyday places in our lives.
