C.S. Lewis on the Fullness of Life: Longing for Deep Heaven invites readers
to ponder the spiritual significance about what they believe about Jesus. The image of “Deep Heaven” borrowed from C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce is used to discuss basic Christological truths in the context of human happiness. Six important aspects of soteriology pertaining to Jesus from the Apostle Creed are presented: 1) incarnation; 2) passion and death; 3) descent into hell; 4) resurrection; 5) ascension; and 6) second coming. Each presentation concludes with a series of reflection questions and meditative prayers. “To look for Deep Heaven” is to follow the way of the Lord Jesus, to believe in the truth he has revealed, and to enjoy a life of lasting friendship with him. True happiness comes from one’s relationship to Jesus Christ as “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6).
