The reader is asked to consider Eucharist as a way of life that is based not only on Jesus' words at the last supper, but to experience those words in the life of Jesus. By returning to Hebrew Scriptures, we are invited to plumb the deep roots of why we care for those who have no voice, no hope, no life; to hear the call to 'choose life' as a challenge every bit as daunting as it must be when those words were first uttered to our Israelite ancestors.
