Embracing Purpose: Essays on God the World and the Church
Geoffrey Wainwright is one of the best-known Christian theologians in the world. His theological work covers Trinitarian theology, Scripture, Christian worship, sacramental theology and ecumenism and has influenced many other writers. There has not been a new book by Geoffrey Wainwright published in the UK for more than a decade. Here Geoffrey Wainwright offers his theological autobiography.
Embracing Purpose draws together twelve previously published essays which cover the breadth of Geoffrey Wainwright’s theological work and the impact it has had in a variety of places around the world. The essays are introduced and edited by the author himself and an epilogue places them in the context of the author’s wider theological career. The book will itself be a major contribution to ecumenical theology.
