Five Australian women take up the challenge to live the life of a contemplative nun for 33 days and nights in an enclosed monastery. Never before has the outside world entered the cloisters of The Abbey.

Following on from the ABC-TV series The Abbey, this CD presents some of the music which is so central to the spiritual life of the Benedictine nuns of Jamberoo Abbey.

Music enriches the long days of silent work and meditation, as the community gathers seven times a day in the beautiful Abbey Church to pray and to sing. The timeless simplicity of their music offers us all the opportunity to share in a unique spiritual journey.
