New Software

Over the last 18 months, Rainbow has invested considerable resources into the development of a new fully integrated software system, that will underpin changes in every aspect of our operation. The first stage of this process was completed at the beginning of September 2008, when our inventory and finance systems were brought on stream. While many of the changes in this first stage are obvious within Rainbow, the only noticeable impact for our trade customers will be the need to log in with a password and account number when placing orders through the site. You can still check price and availability without logging into your account.

In the past, the web site was updated each night. The site is now dynamic, which means that the price and availability information is updated continuously 24 hours a day. Orders placed online are downloaded periodically through the day. We will soon be enabling instantaneous downloading of customer orders direct into our database

Some changes coming soon will include a comprehensive subject browse facility to make it easier to navigate the site.

As we improve our service to the trade, the Rainbow web site will now be a fully trade web site. Non-trade customers will now be serviced through our Mosaic Resources web site which has been set up specifically to focus on the needs of key specialist areas including the academic community.
